Setting the Project

A project consists of all of the files in your design. The project name should be set to the name of the top level schematic of your design. To set the name of the project, use the menu command:

File -> Project -> Name
You should then enter the name of your top level schematic in the Project Name box, or double click on the name of your top level schematic in the Files box.

If your top level schematic is currently open in a Graphic Editor window, you can also set the project name by making this window active and using the menu command:

File -> Project -> Set Project to Current File

To view the hierarchy of your design, you can open the Hierarchy Display using the command:

MAX+plus II -> Hierarchy Display
The Hierarchy Display shows your design as a hierarchy tree with your top level schematic at the root of the tree and lower-level design files as branches of the tree. You may open any of the schematics in your design by double clicking the left mouse button on the appropriate node in the tree.
